Velmenni is a New Delhi based DeepTech and telecommunications company developing LiFi and optical wireless communication technologies. The startup was among India's early ventures focused on visible light communication. Its technology uses light to transmit data, providing an alternative to conventional radio frequency based wireless networks. Velmenni has developed LiFi mesh networking and optical wireless solutions for indoor connectivity, outdoor wireless backhaul and environments where radio frequency interference or spectrum limitations create challenges. The company is also developing free space optical communication and light based backhaul solutions for telecom infrastructure. Its technology has applications across telecommunications, aviation, defence, industrial environments and other connectivity sensitive locations The company raised approximately ₹30 crore in March 2026 from pi Ventures, MountTech Growth Fund and Apekso, supporting the commercial expansion of its light based wireless communication technology.
