Blinkit is an Indian quick commerce company founded in 2013. The company originally launched as Grofers and later pivoted toward quick commerce under the Blinkit brand in 2021. Blinkit built its business around a dense network of partner stores and dark stores that enable rapid delivery of groceries, household essentials and other everyday products. Its platform uses technology, data science and customer insights to manage inventory, demand, fulfillment and delivery operations. Blinkit has expanded beyond groceries into categories such as electronics, beauty, stationery, pet supplies, fresh produce and other convenience products. The company operates across more than 30 Indian cities and continues to expand its quick commerce network. In 2022, Zomato acquired a controlling stake in Blinkit, and Blinkit now operates as a 100% subsidiary of Eternal Limited, formerly Zomato Limited. The company continues to operate as a distinct consumer brand under Blink Commerce Private Limited.
