Torus Motion is a Chennai based deeptech company developing indigenous axial flux motors and intelligent motor controllers. The company began with electric mobility and robotics applications before expanding its technology into automotive, industrial, agricultural, defence and energy markets. Its axial flux motors offer a compact and lightweight alternative to conventional motor designs. Torus claims its motors can achieve up to 96–98% real world efficiency. The company also develops universal field oriented control systems that support multiple motor architectures. Its product range covers applications from low power systems below 30W to high power platforms above 500kW. Torus Motion has moved from prototype development to commercial production and currently serves more than 25 customers. The company has also developed technology for unmanned ground vehicles and defence applications.
