Do you find it difficult to get a trustworthy home service professional when something breaks?
I’m trying to understand a common everyday problem and would really appreciate some honest experiences.
Whenever something at home stops working AC, washing machine, RO, geyser, plumbing, electrical work, etc. how easy or difficult do you find it to get a reliable technician/service professional?
Some of the issues I’ve personally noticed are:
- Not knowing whom to call or whether they’re trustworthy
- Technicians not showing up on time
- Unclear or changing prices
- Difficulty knowing whether a repair is actually necessary
- Concerns about overcharging or unnecessary part replacement
- No guarantee if the same problem happens again
- Having to depend on friends, neighbours or random Google searches
Do you face these problems too, or do you think existing options already solve them well?
I’d especially love to hear about:
- Your most recent experience with a home-service professional
- What frustrated you the most
- What you currently do to find someone
- What would make the experience significantly better
Please feel free to share both positive and negative experiences. I’m trying to understand whether this is actually a meaningful problem for people or just something that seems problematic from my perspective.

Yes, I face this quite often. The biggest problem isn’t finding a technician, but finding someone reliable and trustworthy.
Usually I ask friends/neighbours for references, and if that doesn’t work, I search online or go with the brand’s service centre. The main frustrations are delayed visits, unclear pricing, unnecessary part replacements, and no guarantee if the same issue comes back.
A good solution could be a platform with verified local technicians, upfront/standard pricing, and ratings based on actual completed jobs. Even a short service warranty would give customers much more confidence.
So yes, I definitely feel this is a genuine everyday problem.
